What is Ayurvedic Yoga Massage?

Ayurvedic Yoga Massage involves yoga-based assisted stretching, coordinated breathing, and deep-tissue muscle stimulation.

The treatments and techniques include individual mobilisations and tractions that promote better posture and enhanced breathing.

A session begins with an oil massage using hands and feet, which gradually warms, softens muscle tissues and fascia, relaxes the body and mind, aids breathing, and improves circulation. We focus on the breath to assist in calming the nervous system.

We utilise natural oils and a powder made from the ground root of Acorus Calamus, a wetland plant in the sweetflag family, which not only provides a pleasant exfoliating sensation but helps improve circulation and warm up the tissues, thereby intensifying the massage's benefits.

Gentle mobilisations, tractions, and assisted yoga stretches complement the oil massage. These movements are designed to lengthen the tissues, which benefits those with injuries functionally. They also help to relax tendons and ligaments, improve joint circulation, and promote natural healing.

How often should I have a treatment?

Ayurvedic Yoga Massage is a tailored treatment.  It adapts to the needs of each person.

It is recommended that there is no longer than 4 to 6 weeks between treatments.

Treatment times are dependent on the needs of the client and their availability.  A 90-minute treatment is recommended for the first appointment.
